Instagram Opens Up More Shopping Opportunities

Businesses based in the US that use Bigcommerce now have access to Instagram's new shoppable posts.

WHY THIS MATTERS:

Clickable links have always been an issue with Instagram (they're only allowable on the bio page, and even then it's limited). This new integration means that there are more opportunities to sell. What's really interesting is that Instagram has limited this feature up until now (they've known for ages that this is what people want) - it's a smart way of controlling the revenue, and getting a cut.

Shake Shack Tries Going Cashless in New York

In one location (opening in early October), Shake Shack is going to try going completely cash-free.

WHY THIS MATTERS:

While this may be a gimmick to make it into the PR circuit, this is really the way of the future. What's interesting is seeing how this will play out (especially as Shake Shack is so well known that a percentage of their customers are international), and whether they will really go fully AI (I'm sure there will still be staff on hand helping out).
